What began as a simple dream has grown into one of Rotorua’s favourite spots for authentic Italian dining, where every pizza tells a story of tradition and craftsmanship.
Our owner and head pizza chef, Vasu, discovered his passion for pizza-making more than 15 years ago while working at a pizzeria in New York. Inspired by the art of handcrafting pizzas and the joy of sharing great food, he brought that passion to New Zealand and joined Capizzi when it first opened in 2014. Two years later, in 2016, he proudly took ownership of the business — turning his vision of serving genuine Italian flavours into reality.
At Capizzi Pizzeria Rotorua, every pizza is made the traditional way — using hand-stretched dough, fresh house-made sauce, and quality toppings sourced from trusted local suppliers and Italian producers. Each pizza is baked in our wood-fired oven, giving it a crisp base, smoky aroma, and rich, authentic taste that keeps locals and visitors coming back.
